Original Hickory Grilled

Char Crust Original Hickory Grilled

Original Hickory Grilled

Rich, hickory grilled flavor. This classy companion to your favorite steak is the original used at Al Farber’s legendary steakhouse. A bit smoky-salty-sweet, it enhances the natural flavor without overwhelming. Also delicious on boneless/skinless chicken breasts, tuna steaks, and your favorite vegetables.

Since I found Charcrust over 4 years ago, I have not prepared a steak any other way. No more marinades or any other seasonings, just original hickory Charcrust. I dont even use A-1 anymore.

Thank you, Sam. The Original Char Crust on steaks was the secret to our family’s steakhouse. Yum!

Original Hickory Grilled. Although it has long been a favorite rub for steaks, Original Hickory Grilled really brings out the “meatiness” of tuna and swordfish. Try dredging the fish in Char Crust, then heat 2 Tablespoons of oil in a pan to medium high. Sear all sides of the fish until a nice crust forms, then continue cooking on medium heat to your desired doneness. Happy eating!

I found this here in South Jersey, at least 12 years ago. Of course, when it was gone, I had to find [more of] it!

All the flavors work nicely on veggies, sprinkled — not coated — after tossing in a good oil. For lighter fish, I use the sprinkle method and maybe lighten it with some lemon zest or a squirt of lemon after cooking.

Original Hickory Grilled is my go-to. I order more of this and the Hickory & Molasses because I can always add some to another flavor that I may not have enough of.

As others have said: guests who’ve had ‘my chicken’ think I’m amazing. I usually come clean and show them the box [of Char Crust]. If they’re worthy, and I have a supply, I may even push a box on them – get ’em hooked… they’ll be back for more!
